Giving Back

Last Saturday, one of the new clients of Harvest, a person clearly unaccustomed to seeking aid, asked what should he give back to St. John’s when things turned around. The Harvest Leader on duty answered the same way that he would suggest for Commitment Sunday on January 30, just come back and serve.

Commitment to Harvest

January 16 – There will be a mobile of 300 origami stars. The stars represent the 300+ families that Harvest food pantry serves each week.

During the month of January, we will be celebrating our commitment to St. John’s through our treasure, time, and talents. Kids, Harvest, and Music are programs that St. John’s puts a lot of energy, creativity, and commitment into.

Ways that you can commit to Harvest at St. John’s are:

Treasure – donate money to the Harvest program. $1.25 feeds a family per week.

Time & Talent – volunteer on Saturday mornings at Harvest.

Jan 15 – Volunteer on Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend

As our nation marks the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a national day of service, Harvest Pantry is a community day of service every Saturday. Let’s mark the holiday on Saturday, Jan. 15 by coming out at 6:30 a.m. to meet the needs of the 300 households we serve.
