SIGN UP AND VOLUNTEER!

St. John’s Presbyterian Church, a member of the Neighborhood Grocery Network of the San Francisco Food Bank, distributes supplemental groceries to approximately 300 needy families and individuals every Saturday of the year.Since the opening of our program in October 2000, the pantry has distributed over 250,000 pounds of food. We serve clients in the Richmond District, which includes zip codes 94118 and 94121. Clients check in beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the food distribution begins at 9:00 a.m. Clients are asked to provide their name, proof of address (drivers license, utility bill, etc.), and signature.

Would you like to volunteer? Since the pantry program is staffed completely by volunteers, we are always seeking help from willing individuals including middle and high school students. We have many students who use our program to fulfill their learning service requirement. The time commitment on any Saturday is 6.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. However if 6.30 a.m. is too early, feel free to come starting at 7 a.m. If you would like to join us, please contact John Templeton (harvest@stjohnssf.org) for more information.
